You don’t value compelling copy? Here’s why that’s destroying your health biz.

Are you rowing upstream or sailing with the wind in your holistic health biz? One is intuitive and streamlined, while the other is harder than it needs to be. No, no. We work smarter than harder around here.

Well-informed, strategic copy is essential to your business.

It determines:

  • Who your audience is

  • Tugs on the reader’s emotions

  • Turns cold leads into valued clients

  • And more!

Copy is the vehicle that translates your company's goodwill to people, in all its glory. To help change lives and improve people’s health.

In other words, the copy you use is a big deal.

Being a holistic business owner without compelling copy is like rowing upstream. It’s time-consuming, stressful, and way more work than you signed up for. No one will know what you do, people won’t feel connected to you, and you won’t attract clients.

No, thank you.

I’m no gatekeeper. I love sharing all the juicy copywriting info to help you AND your amazing holistic business. As a holistic copywriter, I know what to look out for and what works. So let’s get right into it!

10 ways compelling copy streamlines your marketing and makes you $$$

  1. Speak to Your Audience's Needs:

Understand the specific needs, concerns, and aspirations of your target audience. Tailor your copy to address these issues. Show how your holistic health practices provide the solution.

Why are your services the answer for your clients? Answer this in your copy.

Pick real people that would be your ideal client and model your copy to speak to them. Hit on their desires, and problems, and explain how your product/service is the solution. For your copy to be effective, your target audience needs to be specific and clear. This is not about getting any leads, it's about attracting the right leads.

2. Educate and Inform:

Use your copy to educate your audience about the principles of holistic health. Explain the benefits of holistic approaches in a clear and accessible manner. Avoid jargon that is confusing to those new to the holistic health space.

Tie this education aspect into how you can help people through what you offer. In my opinion, it’s better to give away all you know and display your level of knowledge. This gains you authority in your field and showcases your expertise.

3. Highlight Personalized Approaches:

Emphasize the personalized and individualized nature of holistic health. Explain how your products/services consider each person's unique needs. Show how you treat the whole person, rather than addressing symptoms. This is a huge advantage in holistic health.

What sets your business apart from others? You take a personalized approach! Use this in how you market.

4. Build Trust and Credibility:

Share your qualifications, certifications, and any relevant experience in your copy. This builds trust with potential clients.

Testimonials and success stories can also contribute to establishing credibility.  In marketing, we call this "social proof". People are more willing to support you if they see others trusting you.

Don’t be shy to share this. It will help people feel like they know you. And creates a sense of comradery.

5. Create a Compelling Story:

Craft a compelling narrative about your journey into holistic health. highlight your passion for helping others achieve well-being. People connect with stories, and this can make your brand more relatable.

This also highlights that you are a human! When you create a sense of relatability, people feel like they know you. People want to connect with you and your brand. The best way to do this is through your story.

6. Use Empathetic Language:

Holistic health is often about understanding the whole person's emotions and experiences. Use empathetic language that resonates with your audience. This shows you understand their challenges and are there to support them.

For me, this can look like: “I hear you. I hate when this happens, too.” “You aren’t alone.” “I’ve experienced this myself and have seen others go through it too.”

Use this while sharing stories about what you overcame on a personal level or in your business.

Building connectivity through emotions is huge in this realm. People are more likely to react to your copy through their gut rather than the rational mind.

“We as consumers would like to believe that our purchase decisions are rational and require cognitive thinking, but studies show that our gut reaction to an advertisement predisposes us; the consumer, to make decisions on par with the brand’s motives.”

While being integral, you can use this to your advantage.

7. Focus on Benefits, not Just Features:

Instead of listing the features of your services, emphasize the tangible benefits. What will your clients experience after working with you? What’s in it for them?

Whether it's…

  • Improved energy

  • Reduced stress

  • Better sleep

…connect your offerings to real-life improvements.

Speak to what your clients want to get from working with you. It’s easy as business owners to brag about what you can do for them. But people want to know what’s in it for them.

Don’t hesitate. “Want to feel constant relaxation, in a deeper connection to your body, and be able to heal ailing aspects of your health? Book a reiki session with me”.

It’s that easy.

How do you want people to FEEL after working with you? Focus on answering this in your copy.

8. Clear Call-to-Action (CTA):

Guide your audience on what action to take next.

  • Schedule a consultation

  • Sign up for this week’s workshop

  • Subscribe to our monthly newsletter

Make your CTA compelling and easy to follow!

You have to guide the conversation. You are the space-holder. You are responsible for how people navigate your sales funnel (AKA the journey a cold lead takes to become a paying client). So make it obvious.

When there’s confusion with your funnel people will second guess, lose interest, exit out, etc. You don’t want that, so be CLEAR. Tell them exactly what to do.

Usually, I create a colorful button linked to where I want them to go next. “Click here” “Sign up here” “Your free consult call”.

9. Stay Authentic:

Authenticity is crucial in holistic health. And in marketing. Be genuine in your communication, and avoid making exaggerated claims. People are more likely to trust you if you seem sincere and transparent.

Don’t overpromise and underdeliver. Don’t portray you are someone you aren’t. Don’t use copy to attack or put down. Don’t seem like you do/offer more than you do. Copy is a vehicle that should not be taken advantage of.

Be integral with your words and how you show yourself and your business. People will feel that.

10. Continuously Optimize:

Track the performance of your copy and be open to making adjustments. Pay attention to what resonates with your audience and refine your messaging accordingly.

Marketing is a long-term game. Good copy is a long-term game. Just like holistic health, it takes time to refine and see what works.

It’s okay to test things and make mistakes. Some legendary copy techniques came from experimenting! Check out: swiped.co. This is a great site to sift through copy that has performed well in the past from the copywriting legends! A great resource to refer to.

Listen to feedback. And refine your message and your copy from there.

Your Holistic Business Depends on Copywriting

Copy can make or break your holistic health business. The words you use to entice, display, explain, teach, and inform matter. They matter a great deal. It's the difference between a cold lead becoming a paying client or not.

When using good copy with proven strategy, you will see your company prosper. You will save yourself time and money. And a whole lot of guessing.

Remember copywriting is a skill set that takes time to refine, so don’t beat yourself up with the journey. When hiring a copywriter, you save yourself this step! (wink, wink I can write your copy for you! Book a free call with me.)
