You’re Underestimating A Solid Blog On Your Website. Here's Why:
I'd be rich if I had a penny for every time I saw a health professional with an inconsistent blog on their site.
Whether you’re missing a few months of posting, or writing “journal entry” blogs to get by, most pros are not utilizing the power of a solid blog.
When done right, blogs work FOR you. They work overtime for you. They lead people right to you with minimal effort. And help your website rank higher on Google.
So why is it so hard to maintain a blog if it’s so worth it?
Too time consuming
It’s not easy to follow trends or stay up with timely research
What even is SEO???
Copywriting is easy but somehow you can never find the right words…
If this is you, read on and let me help you create the blog of your business’s dreams.
Why Blogs and Not Social Media?
I know what you’re thinking…people don’t read blogs anymore. They’re only on social media, so what’s the point, Abby?
Long story short…blogs are still relevant and people are still reading them. However, they should be used differently than social media because they serve different roles.
Blogs are more steady than social media.
Social media changes very quickly. There are always new trends, not only with content but, with how to design that content (think: trending music, graphics, audio, etc.).
Blogs are more grounded in this sense. They aren’t shifting as easily as social media. Trends happening in your niche can be given the spotlight they deserve through a thorough blog post without worrying so much about formatting and editing that comes with social media.
2. Blogs are more in-depth than social media.
Blogging satisfies the reader who needs an in-depth perspective. We call this “writing for the digger”. This reader isn’t convinced through social media posts alone. This reader wants a well-researched blog with links to sort it out for themselves.
Blogs are essential to satisfy the diggers out there!
3. Blogs help you stay relevant and give your site authority through SEO.
Keeping a steady blog on your health website is key to staying relevant and acts as a constant touch point for followers. This not only helps people find you and see you’re up-to-date. But it also helps Google know where to place you.
When blogging relevant information about your niche, Google will rank your blog higher on the list to solve people's searches faster. You can wield this to your advantage by using relevant keywords that people are searching. (This is SEO)
An SEO blog is key to boosting your site’s organic activity.
Instead of choosing…social media or blogs, do both. But use them for different purposes.
“Both serve unique purposes with blogging being incredibly useful when marketing content, and social media being excellent in gaining an audience, but is difficult to publish informative well-written posts. An effective way to increase the credibility of a marketing agency is to use both.”
Pro tip: take sections of your blog and turn them into social media posts!
Blogs serve a different role from social media. While social media is great for quick engagement and reaching new audiences, blogs allow for deeper exploration of topics and provide a lasting resource for readers.
Don’t sleep on blogs.

Many challenges hinder a blog's effectiveness. Embracing a structured approach can set you on the path to success.
Blogs fail for several reasons:
You fail to research your audience
You’re inconsistent with posting
SEO isn’t used effectively
There’s no clear CTA to promote yourself
Formatting errors: poor editing, no lists, long paragraphs, etc. (the nitty-gritty we’ll address in a different blog)
Let’s face it. It’s hard to keep track of it all: Pick a topic after researching…plan out effective keywords…write compelling copy with the keywords…tie it all back to a CTA to promote sales/create an email list, etc.
Not only that but there’s a lot more to consider when crafting an effective, contemporary blog. Here’s a comprehensive guide to understanding the current blogging landscape and what to look out for: The New Way To Blog.
The truth is blogging takes time to become effective. That’s because SEO takes time to work. When it comes to blog efficiency, it’s about about consistency.
Say it with me: Blog efficiency = consistency. Yay! You’re catching on. 😉
Here are some tips for staying consistent with posting blogs:
Keep a blog idea file (I do this, too!)
Make a schedule: even once a month for a blog will boost your site.
Remember it’s a long-term game – anything sustainable in marketing is.
“It’s about being prepared and building a process that will help you go on autopilot.” At first, it’ll feel uncomfortable, but in the end, it’ll be an organic part of your process.
Automate when you can. Get an app for posting!
Dedicate time to writing. Sit down and do it. I believe in you.
By implementing these strategies and viewing blogging as a long-term endeavor, you’ll not only enhance your content but also build a sustainable process that saves you time, money, and stress.
